Reymundo Gomez Cantu, 62, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. Born March 4, 1958 in Crystal City, Texas, Reymundo was a lifelong musician who loved to share his guitar playing and singing with others. He was a especially inspiring when he played his favorite song, 'Alaba A Dios', at church. Reymundo was also a gifted mechanic who enjoyed taking cars apart and making them work again, and he loved visiting others and being with his family. He was a pretty good cook, although he learned from the best - his wife of 32 years, San Juana.
Reymundo was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ruben Cantu Jr.; and his sister, Veronica Cantu.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, San Juana (Cortez) Cantu; his children, Reymundo Cantu Jr., Olivia Cantu, Danae Cantu, and Aaron Cantu; his stepchildren, Juanita Cantu, Christina Ramon, Alma Rivera, and Veronica Rodriguez; his many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Richard Cantu, Roberto Cantu, Edward Cantu, and Adam Cantu; and his sisters, Letecia Ramierz, Rosalinda Cantu, and MaryLou Cantu.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 1pm until 4pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing, with a service to begin at 1:30pm. In light of current health situation, the family requests that all guests wear masks and maintain social distance. A private family interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing, with a celebration of Reymundo's life to be held at a later date.
