Richard left us way too early at the age of 65, but his life lessons and legacy will be with us forever. He was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and Lamar Barber College in Detroit.
As we all know, Richard faced many medical challenges throughout the years, but met every challenge with dignity, toughness and resiliency.
This man NEVER complained and always had a smile on his face, and a kind word for everyone. He loved his family more than anything, but loved his amazing wife and caregiver Marsha more than life itself.
Their bond was amazingly strong, and their love for each other was infectious, and always will be. Richard was born to Ila and the late Richard Sr. and was one of 5 siblings (Susan, Helen, Jodie, and late John).
He was survived by his grandchildren Erin (22), Abigail (21), Halie (18), Rylie (14) Zachary (6), and Maddie (5), his children Stacie and Andrew Varner, and Kelly and Vanessa Lathrop, and his wife and life partner Marsha Lathrop. His amazing spirit will be with us always and his love, affection, and many life lessons, we’ll carry with us forever.
