Age 92, went to home to be with his Lord on December 27, 2008. Born July 17, 1916 in Detroit, MI. Richard was WW II U.S. Army veteran. He retired as Plant Superintendent (Traffic Manager) at Planet Corporation after 36 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and enjoyed life.
He cherished his many friends and neighbors who made time pass a little sweeter the last 9 years, and many thanks to the friends who brought lunch and shared old times with him, which he so enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lilas in 1987. Surviving are his daughter, Sonja M. McCarty; his granddaughter, Mary L. (David) Casado; his step-great grandchildren, Tair and Hillel; and his cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial Services 12:00 Noon Tuesday, December 30, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Pastor Gary Simmons of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.
