

Robert (Rob) James Horwath, 71, of Holt, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2025, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. Rob was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 8, 1953. He graduated from Everett High School and spent 50 years as a U.S. mail contractor and business co-owner of Horwath Trucking.
Rob loved spending time with his family. In the summer, he liked to golf and go camping. He also enjoyed time at the family cottage and relaxing in the sun. He spent the winter months in Florida with his wife, Kathi.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Lou Horwath. He is survived by his wife, Kathi, and his children, Jamie Guardiola and Joshua (Lisa) Horwath, along with his grandchildren, Alexis Guardiola, Kailee Guardiola, and Owen Horwath. Rob is also survived by his brother William (Elaine) Horwath, and his twin brother, Ronald (Diane) Horwath, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Rob was an Eagle member for 34 years, and a lifetime membership was bestowed by the Mason-Holt Eagles. During his membership he was a Past President, Conductor, State Youth Committee member, Past District 11 Chairman and 2021 District 11 Little Brother of the Year. He was also inducted into the Michigan State F.O.E Hall of Fame.
Rob will be most remembered for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, generosity, and love for music and dancing. His infectious smile will be missed by all.
The visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025, between the hours of 6 PM until 8 PM with a Fraternal Order of Eagles Service at 7:15 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI 48842.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI 48842. The family will gather to greet friends beginning at 10 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michigan Family Rec Center (F.O.E.), where Rob camped often.
