Robert J. Rogers, Jr. ?Bob? Dimondale Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away October 5, 2012 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 85. Bob was born January 29, 1927 in Grand Ledge, MI. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1944. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1985 from Michigan National Bank after 39 years of service. Bob was involved in various organizations including past president of Grand Ledge Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Ledge Lions Club. Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing Bingo, Slots and antiquing. Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorey; sister, Joan McConnell; and brother, Kenneth Rogers. He is survived by his 3 children, Steven Rogers of Dimondale, Mark (Shelley) Rogers of Grand Ledge, and Susan Celsor of Simpsonville, SC; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Michelle) Rogers of Detroit, Aubree Rogers of Dimondale, Justin (Katelynn) Rogers, Tyler Rogers, Brandon Rogers all of Grand Ledge, Garrett Celsor of Greenville, SC, Roth Celsor of Bowling Green, KY; 3 great grandchildren, Tristan & Allyson Rogers and Colt Celsor; brother, Daniel (Lorraine) Rogers of Grand Ledge; and many other family members and friends. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday with services at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 11, 2012, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Pastor Charlie Krueger officiating. He rises up early in the morning, plying the water for that elusive catch, waiting in the stillness for a nibble. A slight twitch in the line, expertly he reels it in. A good fisherman knows a keeper when he sees one, he knows when to toss one back, and when to head for home.?
