He worked as a mechanic and car salesman, and later in grounds maintenance for Okemos schools. Rodney loved time spent outdoors. He enjoyed working outside, gardening, and fishing.
Surviving are his parents, Ramon and Roxanna Gidner; wife, Susan Gidner; sisters, Cindy (Rob) Martell and Cathy (David) Worthington; son, Craig (Alexandria) Gidner; step-son, Brandon (Amy) Salisbury; grandsons, Everett Gidner and Axel Salisbury; nephews, Cam, JT, Nick and Derek; several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
