Ronald Alvin Thelen

Age 68, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 under the loving care of his family. He was born September 2, 1944 in Lansing the son of Roman and Helen (Schmidt) Thelen. He married Betty (Johnson) Thelen in 1967 and she preceded him in death in 2006. Ron was also preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Susan and Shirley and brothers, Keith and Dennis. Ron was a member of the UAW local #652 and a retired General Motors pipe fitter. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Thomas) Bacon of Lansing; sons, Ron (Karen) Thelen of Holt and Michael (Kamela) Thelen of Dimondale; 5 grandchildren: Tyler Thelen, Thomas Thelen, Kole Bacon, Hannah Bacon and Davin Thelen; 3 brothers: Elden (Barb), Neil (Fran) and Gerald (Carol). Ron's family will celebrate his life on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
