Roseanna Beth Bouwer

Raised in Michigan, Roseanna graduated from high school in Coopersville at the age of 17. She pursued her passion for healthcare by earning a certificate in front and back office procedures and as a nurse’s aide from a technical school in Grand Rapids. Her commitment to learning continued as she later obtained an associate degree from Lansing Community College.

On September 10, 2001, just one day before the tragic events of September 11th unfolded, Roseanna joined the United States Navy. Her decision to serve her country reflected her deep sense of duty and courage.

Roseanna was baptized into the Christian faith alongside her mother when she was about three years old—a moment that remained meaningful throughout her life.

She married Jason Bouwer, with whom she shared several joyful years of marriage. Their bond was filled with love and mutual support. Roseanna cherished their life together and found great happiness in their union.

A creative spirit with a deep appreciation for nature, Roseanna found joy in crafting and often shared her handmade items with others to brighten their days. She had a special love for growing flowers and caring for houseplants. Her home was filled with greenery and warmth. Her dogs held a special place in her heart—she treated them as beloved members of the family.

Roseanna is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Bouwer; her mother, Anita Such; her stepfather, Gerald Such; and her stepsister, Erica Lee Such Basler and Erica’s husband Jonathan Basler. She also leaves behind many cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Those who knew Roseanna remember her as caring, loving, funny, smart, crafty, and deeply dedicated—to her family, to animals, to service, and to bringing joy to others.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

The Funeral Service will be held on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home 621 S. Jefferson St. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of services. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
