Rosemary Therese Borgen, of East Lansing, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2015. She was born on August 19 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it was there that she met her husband Jerry, who she was married to for 67 years. Together, they started the Manpower staffing franchise in Lansing in 1962, and her strong financial sense was a large part of laying the foundation of what has been a successful family business for over 50 years. Rosemary was an avid reader, and she had a great love for travel, theater and the symphony. She also enjoyed playing golf and, with Jerry, was a member of Walnut Hills Country Club for many years.
Rosemary was the mother of three children: Ellyn, David (Laura) and Erik (Ann). She was a grandmother of four: Anthony, Gianna, Claire and was preceded in death by grandson Myles. She was also a great grandmother of three: Luca, Ryleigh and Ayva. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Honoring Rosemary’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lansing Boys and Girls Club, The McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation/Myles Francis Jerome Borgen Fund or a charity of one’s choice in memory of Rosemary.
The family is being serviced by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
