Roy Allan Albrecht, 66, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. He was born February 28, 1954 in St. Johns, Michigan to Frank and Caroline (Smith) Albrecht, and after graduating from college, went on to work a successful career as a tool maker with IMPCO.
He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes - if any of his team members said they'd "get around to it" at work, he'd make sure to give them one of his handcrafted "get-around-to-it" toys. He enjoyed working for over 40 years with his friend, Bill Reed and others. He loved to work on cars, especially his Mustang. He and his wife, Peggy, volunteered at the City Mission and St. Vincent de Paul with their church, Beginning in Grace, for many years. They also enjoyed taking long road trips together.
While he loved his many dogs through the years (most recently, Bernie) and grand dogs - Lena, Bentley, and Chico - Roy loved his friends. Roy had a couple good friends, Jim and Chris, that he always took time to check in with.
More than anything, Roy loved his family. He showed that love through his involvement with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, never missing a sporting event, celebration, or just hanging around.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Frank Albrecht.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Quinn); his children, Billy (Sherri Powers) Albrecht, Erica Jones, Andrew Evans, and Heather (Joe Delapaz) Evans; his grandchildren, Brianna, Mercades, Lexus, Victoria, Jessica, Andrea, Ryken, and Axel; his many great-grandchildren; his mother, Caroline Albrecht; and his siblings, Judy (Rex) Schmunsler, Kathy (Jack) Vaughan, and Jeffrey (Candice) Albrecht.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the City Mission, 2216 S Cedar St, Lansing, MI 48910 or to St. Vincent de Paul, 2800 W. Willow, Lansing, MI 48917.
