Ruby Lucille Berkimer

Born on July 9, 1940, in Lansing, Michigan, Ruby was the beloved daughter of Ira and Bessie Short. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her community and was a proud lifetime member of both the Eagles and The Order of the Eastern Star.

Ruby is lovingly remembered by her children, Denise (Rob) Premoe, Dennis (Marjorie) Pugsley, and Robert Pugsley; her 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Leila Mann and family; her brother, James (Marlene) Short and family; the Vernon Short family; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Berkimer; her son, Wallace Pugsley; her sister, Jean (Stanley) Neil; and her brother, Vernon (Liz) Short.

The funeral service to honor Ruby’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, located at 3232 W. Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917. A viewing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
