Sharon worked for Michigan State University for 25 years in the Degree and Certification Office before retiring. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are daughters, Sandra Jo (Gerald) Housier, Debra Lynn Catey, sons; Christopher Charles Catey, Todd Wilford (Monique) Catey, Stephen Lloyd (Billie Jo) Catey, Charles Paul Catey Jr., 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and brother, Michael (Cindy) Swix.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Olivet Baptist Church, 5455 W. Willoughby Rd, Lansing MI.
