Shirley Ann McKim, age 80, passed away on November 25, 2014. She was born on October 31, 1934, the daughter of Otto and Marge Fineout. Shirley retired from Buerman Marshall after 30 plus years of service. She enjoyed doing ceramics, bowling, crossword puzzles and going to the casino. She was a volunteer at the Red Cross, a member of the F.O.E. #1039 Lodge and participated in the women’s auxiliary activities. She was also a member of Holt United Methodist Church. She spent a lot of time in the summers at the family cottages on Lake Missaukee. After Shirley and her husband Joe retired, they travelled extensively, took cruises, played in golf and bowling leagues together and loved spending time with their grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Joe McKim,; daughter, Denise; sister, Pat McGowan; son-in-law, Norm Roberts; several aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins and friends. Surviving are her children, JoAnn Roberts, Brian and Gordon McKim; brother, Richard Fineout; brother-in-law, Jack McGowan; sister-in-law, Nancy McKim; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie, Jill, Melissa, Jaimie, Joe and Billy; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kennedy, Hailie, Paige and Omari; grand-dog, Duke; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, at Holt United Methodist Church, 2321 N. Aurelius Rd. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Avenue. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those desiring make contributions to Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 S. Cochran Rd., Charlotte, MI 48813, in memory of Shirley. A special thank you is extended to all of the hospice caretakers who were so good to our mother and kind to our family.
