

Stephen Romuald Dolen II passed away January 18, 2025, at his home in Lansing, at the age of 78. He was born August 19, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Stephen Romuald Dolen I and Matilde Dolen. He married Pamela Marie Dolen in Lansing, Michigan on April 8, 1989. Steve received a BA in Political Science from Michigan State University where he played football and was a member of the 1965 National Championship Team. Steve served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He also worked for over 20 years as a Sales Manager at Northern Home Improvement. He was proud to be a longtime member of the greater Lansing area community.
Steve was a beloved husband, father, and brother. He loved his family and friends profoundly and in fact, there was almost nothing that Steve did without giving himself fully to it. He was a HUGE fan of the sports teams of his alma mater, the Michigan State Spartans – “Go Green!”. He was also an avid golfer, a zealous reader, and he loved playing cards in his free time. He cherished time spent with family, enjoyed debating politics and current events, and often inspired people to think and laugh deeply. He took pride in helping people within the community and donating his time to support the church and other community organizations. Steve was a passionate, direct, caring, intelligent, and outspoken man. He loved people and never passed up an opportunity to chat with a complete stranger as if he had known them for years.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Marie Dolen; children: Son and daughter in law, Wesley Luke (Laura) Dolen and Caleb Foster Dolen; siblings, Wesley James Dolen and Anita Dolen; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charis Nelson.
