She was born January 10th, 1947 to Raymond and Viola DeMunck (Shepherd). She married the love of her life, William Bruce Goodrich on March 13,1965, and spent 59 years raising their family together. She went to high school in East Lansing Michigan, and attended Lansing Community College. She retired from the State of Michigan, Treasury department where she was a talented and much loved trainer in the Income Tax division.
She was the ultimate loving protective Momma Bear to her children:
Stephanie and Richard LaPratt, Kimberly and Donald Bills, Shawn and Mannie Goodrich, and Matthew and Sarah Goodrich, and cute rascal of a dog Shaggy.
She was an amazing grandmother to David and his wife Abby Dexter, Terri Dexter, Craig and his wife Emiley Goodrich, Jason Bills and his fiance’ CJ Gilbert, Aubrey and her husband Ryan Kobylarek, Diana Goodrich, Marisa Goodrich, Reece Goodrich, Jacuqelyn Edgerton, Aaron Edgerton, Rich LaPratt, and Cheryl LaPratt.
She was the loving great-grandmother to Hannah Dexter, TJ Dexter, Penelope Goodrich, Wesley Goodrich, and Alena Davis.
She was a sister to June Lennon who preceded her in death.
She had a wonderfully large extended family and always enjoyed the times she got to spend with each and everyone of them, no matter the time between visits.
Sue was the most kind-hearted and loving person. She was always there for her family and friends with a warm hug, patient listening ear, and a wonderful sense of humor. She absolutely loved all of her family times, with holiday parties being such an important part of her life.
She cherished her weekly visits with her dear Aunt Joan and Aunt Shirley, her home was always open to her family and friends no matter the time of day or night.
In addition to being an avid reader, one of Sue’s favorite pastimes was the 50+ year tradition of the annual Frankenmuth weekend each fall, where she truly treasured the quality time with her daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
Sue never ended a call without reminding her kids “I Love You” and her quick wit, charm and smash kisses will be memories cherished by all.
May we carry her smile, memories and spirit with us forever.
