

Therese Dimet, age 86, passed away peacefully in her Lansing home, June 18, 2013. Therese was born November 16, 1926 in Hubbell, MI the daughter of Eldred Henry and LaNelda (King) DuLong. After completing 8th grade, she worked as a surgical nurse's aide in Hancock, MI. Therese married in 1950 and moved to Lansing, MI in 1955 where she was a stay at home mom. She and her husband loved square dancing with the Whirlaway Square Dance Club and were active with the French Canadian Genealogy Club and the Mid-Michigan Genealogy Society. Therese attained her High School Diploma in 1986 from Waverly Sr. High saying she wanted to be a good example for her grandchildren. She loved working in her garden, watching the birds and sitting under the big tree in their back yard with friends and neighbors. Therese was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Weldon DuLong, Sonny DuLong, Marvin DuLong, Bud DuLong, sister, Eileen Andrews, niece, Diane (Ron) Fisher and beloved husband of 58 years, Jean Francis Dimet. She is survived by sons, Duane (Marti) Dimet, Dale Dimet, daughter, Darlene (Rex) Holberg, grandchildren: Daniel (Courtney) Holberg, Ryan (Diana) Holberg, Andrea Dimet, Aaron Dimet, Jon (Samantha) Dimet, Linda Dimet, Karen (Nathan) Crouse, Emily Dimet, Kelly Dimet, great grandchildren: Taylor, Luke, Kyle, Ryleigh and Samuel Holberg, Elayana Dimet, Jaxson and Tyson Crouse, Dartanian and Isaiah Hansen, siblings: Gloria Karvonen and Norman DuLong, niece, Cheri (Henry) Campbell, nephew Michael (Jill) Dimet and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, June 24, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a 7 pm Vigil Service at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw St, Lansing, and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. The Funeral Liturgy 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing with Father Pieter Van Rooyen, officiating. Rite of Committal at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
