Age 70 passed away at his home October 9, 2013. He was born June 27, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Harry and Eleanor (Crispin) Barnes. Thomas graduated from Lansing Sexton High School in 1961 and he retired from the National Guard Reserves after 25 years of service. He was the Owner and CEO of Lansing Lithographers for many years. He enjoyed photography, was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and accomplished marksman. Thomas was a lifetime member of the NRA, long time member of the Craftsman Club, an instrumental and active member of the Central Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, David Bouse. Survivors include his two children: Sandra (Jurgen) Barnes-Kretzenbacher and Shawn (Amanda) Barnes and their mother, Joyce Barnes; grandchildren: Alexander and Marcus Kretzenbacher; brother, Harry (Bonnie) Barnes and sisters, Suzanne Bouse and Patricia (Todd) Barnes-Griffin. Thomas' family will celebrate his life on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing with Pastor Jim Robinson officiating. Military honors will follow the service. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association.
