Thomas "Tommy T-Bird" Mulder

Thomas Barry Mulder was born on June 13, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of the late Geert D. and Harriet Mulder, and passed away June 9, 2015 at the age of 72. Tom graduated from Sexton H.S. where he participated in multiple sports and attended MSU where he was a member the Wrestling Team. He was President of Geert D. Mulder and Sons as well as a longstanding member of the Greater Lansing Home Builders Association. Tom was also a member of several clubs at MSU and an avid supporter of MSU Athletics. He was former Commander-in-Chief of the Commanders Club of Michigan. Tom loved spending time at the cottage at Higgins Lake and participating in a variety of outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing and golf. He was also enjoying retirement in Florida. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carroll (Al) Hagen. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice; daughters, Wendi Martin, Krista (Neil) Desormeaux and Tammany (Matt) Burden; son, Kurt (Shana) Mulder; seven grandchildren, Alexander and Brianna Martin, Brooke and Drew Desormeaux, Owen Burden and Emerson and Ellory Mulder; several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Richard Mulder and Gerald (Pat) Mulder; and sister, Nancy (Richard) Taylor. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. The family will receive friends from 3:00~7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
