Ubaldo Juan Patiño age 94 went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2019. Ubaldo was born on May 16, 1924 in Zaragoza Caohuila, MX. Ubaldo and his wife of 59 years Maria Luisa Patiño came to Lansing, Michigan in 1943. Ubaldo spent his entire adult life working to better the Hispanic/Latino community. Upon arriving in Lansing he worked in the fields processing sugar beets and later he worked at the Milling Drop Forge Company. Ubaldo went on to work with Governor Milliken and helped establish the Hispanic Latino Commission of Michigan and in his later years Ubaldo worked with the Newago School District helping migrant students and families realize their educational dreams. He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Luisa, sister Dora Greenly, and daughters Gloria Gordillo and Sonia Patiño. He is survived by brothers Bill Patiño, Ralph Gomez and sister Olga Ortiz and sons Henry Patiño, John Patiño, Manuel Patiño, Rene Patiño and daughters Norma Patiño-Reyes, Estella Patiño Delgado, Lorraine Patiño, Olga Patiño, and Rita Patiño. Along with 26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. The family invites all those who know Ubaldo to share in his eternal life with Jesus Christ. The visitation will be held from 4-6pm and the Rosary will begin at 7pm on Monday February 18th at the Cristo Rey Church. The Funeral Mass will held Tuesday February 19th at 10am at the Cristo Rey Church located 201 West Miller Rd. Lansing, Michigan 48911.
