

Vivian Grace Ross, Lansing, was born June 29, 1913 to John and Annie Marie (Johnson) Nelson in Greenville, Michigan. She married Melvin M. Ross on December 29, 1939, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and he preceded her in death in 1990. She passed away at her granddaughter’s residence with her loving family beside her.Surviving are a son, Russell (Barb) Ross of Vestaburg, and a daughter, Ann Marie (Walter) Zinser of Reading; six grandchildren: Jeff Ross of Mason, Allison (Michael) Salquist of Laingsburg, Stephen (Terri) Ross of Laingsburg, Jason Ross of Elkhart, Indiana, Kristi (Ross) Bradbury of Ypsilanti and Chad (Michele) Harmon of Hillsdale, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.Vivian graduated valedictorian of Greenville High School in 1931. She worked part time at the Salvation Army office in Lansing from 1957-1966. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, was a Brownie leader, a den leader and homemaker. She bowled on the Mayflower Church Bowling League with nieces and nephews. She loved her family and traveling with them while her health permitted. She was given a life membership award in the Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society in 1992. She thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with family and enjoyed working in her rose garden.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. Interment will be at Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing following the services.
