Walter Houpt

Walter J. Houpt "Walt" Lansing Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2012, at the age of 90. Born August 27, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA. At age 16, Walt started with his father at Houpt Photo Finishing and later became the owner and operator. He spent his entire life in the photo finishing business, working in several cities around the country. His passion was golfing and having his ?Hole in One?. He was a licensed small airplane pilot and later enjoyed sailing his 30 ft sailboat off the coast of Southern California. Surviving are his wife and friend, Marcy; his 9 children Judy Dean, Stephen (Colleen) Houpt, Beth Carlson, Mark (Pat) Houpt, Don (Michelle) Houpt, Wally (MaryBeth) Houpt, Amy (Tim) Myers, Greg Houpt, and Joni (Harold) James; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Metcalf. Services are Monday, March 26, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing , MI. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Liturgy following at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bill Lugger presiding. Rite of committal St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
