Ward was a wonderful friend. He was a true witness to the power of God's love through Christ Jesus. Watches were the instrument that connected him to many people. He was passionate about his work, but his greatest joy was sharing his love of the Lord. He was a proud American and Veteran of WWII and one of five brothers to serve. A true patriot of the greatest generation. His kindness and generosity, friendly and cheery personality brought light to everyone around him. He gave away more watches than he ever repaired or sold. He would spread the sunshine with a clever greeting, his warm smile, and often an old British penny as a token of his friendship. He was a great influence on all the people he met on his life's journey. Dear friend , May you rest in peace in the eternal presence of Jesus.

Over yhe course of many years, Ward and Kay became welcome sights whenever they arrived at my place of employment to check out the new supply of pocket watches, looking for some that Ward could give new life. Often Dan Holley, his 'adopted son', accompanied him, and always did so more recently. Every time - not sometimes - there were three 'loves' he shared with me. His first love was his God and making sure I knew of salvation through Christ Jesus. Second only to his love for Him was Ward's love and devotion for his dear wife, Kay. Then, he loved the USA, the country he fought for in WWII. A joy for him was children and he had been purchasing and giving away a book on children's prayers, expressing how the prayers of even little children are of great value in Heaven. Ward was a wonderful man and a special human being. God bless him with sweet rest and his beloved Kay with peace. My condolences to those who loved him.

Ward was an honest and trusting man who always did quality watch repair. Meticulous in his work and never a bad word was heard coming from his mouth. I enjoyed my many conversations with Ward and he will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to Mr. Thompson and the entire Thompson family.

To Mrs Thompson and Family, 
I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying that God will comfort your hearts as only He can in your time of sorrow. I have so many good memories of Bro Thompson. Our family has known him for many, many years. We will miss him very much. He was always the first one at church and would jokingly say that it looked like someone did not pay the electric bill this month. He always would make you smile, even if you were down. It has been a long time since I have seen him as I have lived in Ohio for years but I will always remember him as a kind and helpful man and I was glad to have known him.

We may not be able to collectively voice our appreciation at your Memorial Service, but always know you were loved by us, and will forever remain in our hearts.

Brother Thompson was a man of his word and always stood for what he believed in. At times he may have come across very stern to people but it was only because he loved them all and wanted Heaven to be their home too. He will be missed. I meet Brother Thompson in 1997 and heard him tell of many things in his life but mainly of how he got saved and loved the children and how they were the future. I know he loved his family very much. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss. My the 'God of all comfort' comfort you during these difficult times. At 1 Corinthians 15:26 The Bible states 'And the last enemy death is to be brought to nothing'. We cannot wait until this promise is fulfilled in the very near future.
