William L. Newton III, age 69, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Bill was born in Lansing, MI on November 2, 1955 to William L. Newton Jr and Margaret Newton. He served in the United States Army. Following his military service he was self-employed in construction and worked as a security guard. Bill retired from Autoport where he had worked for over 10 years. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time in Cadillac and Reed City.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Kristine Newton; sisters, Anna Campbell, Sharon Whitford, Robin Jolly, Kay Potter, and Judy Bohnett; brother, Rodney Newton; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Danny and Delphin Newton.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Towar Hart Baptist Church, 6157 Towar Ave, East Lansing. Inurnment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
