He attended High School in Mayfield, Kentucky until he was drafted in 1941, where he served his country honorably during WWII, from the years 1943-1946 as a Rifleman in the U.S. Army. Nick married the love of his life Betty Jean Nichols in 1953. He worked and retired from Anchor Freight in 1988. Nick was known as a long standing member of many organizations; his church at Bethany Baptist Church, his membership with Morley S. Oates Post #701, and his life membership with DAV Capitol City Chapter #8.
William is proceeded in death by his wife; Betty Jean Nichols; his brothers, Gene Nichols, and Max Nichols; he is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law; Teresa (Jim) Sigman; loving grandchildren, Jason (Emma) Sigman, Katie (Joe) Millonzi; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose Sigman, and Ella Grace Sigman; his loving nieces and nephews, Patricia Brice, Kim Jones, Deborah McGough, Jackie Nichols, Steve Nichols, Craig Nichols, Tammy Jenkins Allmon; and his sister-in-law, Jackie Jenkins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48912, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home – Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48912, at 10:00AM with visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 9:00AM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Nick’s memory to Hospice of Lansing – Stoneleigh Residence.
