Woodrow Joseph Ellis passed on July 3, 2026, at the age of 81. Woody was a hardworking but fun-loving man who dedicated his life to his family. Woody served in the United States Army before working as a computer programmer for his life-long career. Woody enjoyed fish tanks and aquariums, not only admiring the fish but the interworkings of the water, filtration and aesthetics of the tank. When not at work, he was spending time with his bride of 50 years, Patricia. The two enjoyed dancing, going to the movies and raising 7 children together. Woody will be dearly missed by his wife, Pat; his children, Terri (Tom) Weston, Shelly Wawiernia, Pat Ellis, Kristi Brunst, Stefani (Corey Anderson) Ellis, Stasi (Mike Shipman) Ellis, and Woody Ellis Jr.; his grandchildren, Jessica, Devin, Derek, Nick, Brittany, Pat Jr., Danielle, Sydney, Noah, Isaiah, Ava, Nevaeh, and Mia; his brothers, Brian, Doug, and Greg; many great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Mischka. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chris; his brothers, Ken, Bob, and John; and his parents, Peter and Vera.
A memorial mass for Woody will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
Donations in Woody's memory may be made to Cure Alzheimer's Fund or World Wildlife Fund.
