Antoinette “Toni” Brenner, age 87, a beloved wife, mother and Nana passed away peacefully on December 12, 2019. Toni was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 12, 1932 to Whitney Vincent Mathieu and Antoinette Ortalano Mathieu. Toni grew up in New Orleans surrounded by a large extended family, but she eventually moved to Tampa before settling in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where she became the owner of Drew’s Beachcomber on a beautiful stretch of beach. It was there that she raised her family of six children and became actively involved in the community. During her lifetime, Toni enjoyed traveling and cooking, but most of all she loved being with friends and family and attending her church, St. Jerome’s Catholic Church.
Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Brenner, sons, Wayne Lister and Lenny Lister, brother Whitney Mathieu and son-in-law Bill Sullivan. She is survived by her brother, Samuel Mathieu (Annette), daughters, Diane Lister, Lorraine Sullivan, and Cherie Spurling (Bunky), son Tony Lister (Marion), and niece Lori Lablanc. Toni is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Lister (Manda), Jennifer Lister Rasmussen (James), Tyler Thomas (Roxann), Matthew Sullivan (Stephanie), Mark Sullivan (Angela), Rachel Sullivan Lovelace, Seth Sullivan (Victoria), Hilari Quinn, Greta Kelley (Eric), Snobia Slone (Walter), Gloria Spurling and twenty great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at Serenity Funeral Home, Largo, FL. A committal service will follow in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church in Antoinette's honor.
