EBBERT, BERNARD “BERNIE” W., 88, of Largo, passed away Nov. 12, 2011. Bernie moved to Largo in 1978 from his native Pittsburgh, PA. Before retirement he was a district circulation manager for the Pittsburgh Press. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Largo; a WW II Army veteran for 37 months with the 466th Air Engineering Squadron 71st Air Service Group; 3rd degree Knights of Columbus Council #4892; American Legion Post #7, Clearwater and an avid golfer. Bernie is survived by his wife, Josephine of 61 years; children, Alan Ebbert, Sandy (James) Hanna and James Ebbert, all of Largo; grandchildren, Matthew (Chelsie) Hanna, Palmetto, FL and Kimberly (Matt) Gipson, Fredericksburg, VA and great grandchildren, Tyler Hanna and Taelynn Gipson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc. or American Lung Assoc. Viewing will be from 3-5 pm Sunday (Nov 20) at the funeral home chapel.
