Betty Jane Kadjeski

Betty Jane Kadjeski (Beck), age 95, of Largo, Florida, passed away November 30, 2023 at The Vineyard Inn ALF surrounded by family and friends. Betty was born on January 6, 1928 in Leigh, Nebraska to William and Stella Beck and was the youngest of four daughters. Betty’s family moved to Ithaca, New York where she graduated from Lansing High School. Betty served on many committees in high school, played violin, active in sports and won an award for her efforts in the war bonds drive. Betty was recruited by the U.S. War Department during her senior year and she moved to Washington, D.C. upon graduation where she met her future husband, Joseph J. Kadjeski, Jr. and was married April 12,1947. Betty continued civil service for 30 years. She served as a volunteer with US/IFAS Extension Pinellas County for 25 years and was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church of Seminole FL where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Betty was an avid crafter and sewer, and after moving to her forever home at the Vineyard Inn, she loved games (especially cards), reading, puzzles, and just conversing with people all with a smile. Betty enjoyed her visits and outings with family and friends, was quick-witted and had a sense of humor. Betty is survived by sons Joseph (Deborah) Kadjeski, Daniel (Bobbi) Kadjeski, Patrick Kadjeski, Kevin (Audrey) Kadjeski, daughters Eileen (Bob) Curtis, Janet (Dennis) Dubbert, Suzie (Tommy) Burdette, and Karen (Jon) Francis, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her parents, husband, her daughter Kathleen, and 3 sisters (Loretta, Lenore, Florence).

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19, 2024 2-4p.m. at The Vineyard Inn Assisted Living Facility, 10929 Ridge Rd, Largo, FL 33778.

Internment services will be held June 26, 2024 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735, repast location TBD.
