FEHL, Rev. Bruce Allen, 81, of Clearwater, FL, died Dec. 26, 2013. Pastor Fehl was born in Vandergrift, PA. He retired in 1997 after 30 years of faithful service from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Largo, FL. Pastor Fehl graduated from the Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago, IL. He started his ministry in Grand Rapids, MI (1958) and after moving to Temple Terrace, FL in 1962, he established Christ the King parish and served as Lutheran chaplain at USF. He came to Prince of Peace in 1967 until retirement in 1997. While at Prince of Peace, he established the parish nurse program; meals on wheels and was the ecumenical representative for Lutherans. He also served on the ethics board of Largo Medical Center, helped establish Hospice of the Florida Suncoast (Suncoat Hospice) and served on several boards for senior residences in St. Petersburg and Odessa. He is survived by his wife, Lida, of 56 years; son, Mark (Kim) Kirchman and their children, Kaiya and Marin, all of Odessa, FL and daughter, Alice (Harry) Koran of Largo. A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, Jan 4, 2014 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Suncoast Hospice.
