Calvin W Meyer, 96, of Largo, FL passed away December 28th, 2023. He was born on Oct. 11, 1927 in Newark, NJ. He was a Life Member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks with over 73 years of membership. He attended school in Freeport, NY. High School was interrupted by WWII and Calvin, like many signed up for service. He was deployed with the 19th Fleet to the Philippines. When he returned, he completed his high school and furthered his education at the now Kettering University. That is until he was again called to duty for the Korean War. He was always ready with a joke or quip, smile and willing to help when able. He is survived by his loving family. Remembered by many dear friends. A gathering of family and friends to be held Sunday, February 18th, 2024 from 1pm-2pm with the service to follow at 2pm, Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Elks Charity, Elks Veterans Program or St Jude Children’s Hospital.
