Carol Littlewood

Our sweet Mother passed away on 12/04/2024 at home in Clearwater, Florida surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Muncie, Indiana to Edith J Taylor and Ward Haffner.

She graduated Muncie Central High School in Muncie, Indiana. She later attended nursing school earning her nursing license. She worked for hospice, nursing home, home health, hospital in her early years. She was a passionate, caring nurse who loved her patients and especially enjoyed working with babies and young children towards the end of her career.

She loved children and her love for children went beyond family. She was a fun, loving Mother who was always there when we needed her. She had an outgoing personality, loved to laugh, joke and always said what was on her mind. She loved life, loved to talk and never met a stranger. She wanted to know everything.

She enjoyed going to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's Birthdays, school events and family gatherings. Our Mother was kind, generous and spiritual. She sometimes put others needs ahead of her own. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Kenneth. She was his caregiver the last couple of years before her health started to decline. She enjoyed cooking for her family and making the children's birthday cakes throughout the years. She invested a lot of time into family gatherings.

Throughout the years she often took different grandchildren on vacation to their home in North Carolina. They took the children to see waterfalls, 4th of July events, several other fun activities in the mountains. She loved to travel, collect antiques and spending time with her family and attending church.

Our Mother recently adopted a cat "Ginnie" named after Ginnie Springs. She also adopted a puppy "Sophie" to comfort herself after the passing of her late husband Kenneth Littlewood, Sr.

She leaves behind a daughter, Anjanette Beason; 2 sons, Kenton W. Townsend and David K. Townsend. She has 3 step-children Chris Littlewood, Karen McManus ( Eric Mcmanus), Kenny Littlewood Jr. (Kerry Littlewood); Grandchildren, Brittany Beason, Danielle Sances, Rikki Beason, Joshua Townsend, Kenton Townsend Jr., Quincy Townsend, Hunter Mcmanus, Hayden Mcmanus, Sadi Littlewood, Jace Littlewood, AJ Littlewood, Andy Littlewood and Jamie Littlewood; great-grandchildren, Alizayah, Isabella, Alanah, Aria, Teagon, Aliyah, Alayah and Lily Rose; sister, Janice Wilkins; sister-in-law, Doris White; cousins, Debbie, Asia, Diana, Steve; and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was Preceded in death by her parents Edith Taylor and Ward Haffner; sisters Janet Keihn, Theresa Markwell, Melissa Freytag; brother Georgie, who died of polio as a toddler and niece Ashlee Marie Townsend.

Upon publishing our Mothers obituary we are heartbroken learning the death of our Mother's sister (our Aunt) Melissa Freytag 14 days later.

We will be having a celebration of life the 2nd week of January and will soon announce the date and time.
