Born on March 3, 1943, to Helen and Wilbur Bardell, Carol grew up in Waukegan, Illinois, where she learned early the values of hard work, kindness, and grit. She married the love of her life, Jon Williams, on Valentine’s Day 1994, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys.
Carol was a woman of many gifts: a gifted cook, a congenial spirit with a heart of gold, a master of board games, and a magician with a sewing machine. Throughout her lifetime, she worked in several industries, greeting everyone she met with warmth and grace.
She is survived by her husband, Jon; her children, Debbie, Diana, Dawn, Troy, Chad, and Wes; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory. Carol was preceded in death by her son, David; her sister, Joyce; her brother, Robert; and her parents, Helen and Wilbur.
A woman of deep faith, Carol found peace in worship at Suncoast Community Church, and in the quiet assurance that love and faith outlast everything. Her family will remember her not for grand gestures, but for the way she lived—with grace, humor, and an open door.
A viewing and funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
