Daisy was multi-talented and had a passion for COOKING, BAKING and SEWING.
She would bake wedding and birthday cakes for clients and made an awesome pound cake that everyone enjoyed. Her sewing was impeccable, she was a longtime seamstress for Macy’s Department Store. Daisy was always evolving and learning to better herself. Daisy entertained being a Secretary, Home Health Aide Assistant, and a Licensed Beautician.
Daisy attended Dudley’s University in North Carolina, obtaining her cosmetology license. When she finally retired, she managed a thriving health food store business called Aura Foods & Health in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Daisy healed and saved many people with herbs and remedies from her health food store. She had a gift for helping people and spreading kindness and love.
Daisy will always be remembered as a classy lady. Her style, grace, beauty and wisdom will forever be a gift to follow throughout our lives. She always had a gracious way of speaking to people. She never yelled to get her point across, and if she did yell, oh boy, you better run!
Daisy was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother,
great-grandmother and a friend who touched and warmed the hearts of many.
We will miss her dearly and never forget those special moments we all shared with her.
Daisy is survived by her children Makeda Mongo, Ronald Mongo and Zelda Mongo,
her sister Elizabeth Mitchell and a host of grandchildren. Daisy was preceded in death by her three children Edward Pough, George O. Mongo and Yvette Mongo, her four siblings Anna Mae Marion, Theresa Burney, Bertha Hendrix and Fredrick Barnes.
