Dale Gregory Payne

Dale “Skip” Payne, 75, of Clearwater Florida, passed away Thursday November 4th 2022, after a lengthy illness. Dale was born on December 21st 1946 in Wellsville, New York to Virginia M. Liesegang and Dale R. Payne. He married Barbara Fisher on June 14th 1987.

Dale was an electronic machinery technician, a skill he learned while in the service. He was a Vietnam veteran of the Navy Special Forces and was proud to serve three tours of duty in Vietnam.

Dale was a member of Saint Catherine's Catholic Church. He also was a member of the American legion and the UDT SEAL Association. Dale enjoyed sports, especially with the local teams. He also enjoyed listening to music, his favorite being “Black Sabbath”, however he liked just about every genre. He was quite a dancer also. Dale had a great sense of humor and didn't pass up a chance to use it on social media.

Dale was most proud of his children, Kathy (Cam), Dale (Lyn) and Fred, all living in Florida and stepsons, Brian (Liza) from Georgia and Brady from Florida. He had six wonderful grandchildren. Josh, Jeremy, Jade, Nick, Dale “DJ” and Brian. Dale was the oldest of five boys his brothers David, Gary and Danny proceeded him in death. Doug (Holly) lives in New York.

A visitation for Dale will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 11, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A graveside service will occur Thursday, November 11, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
