Born on May 31, 1934, in Hamburg, New York, to Bessie Knaak-Kuenn and Frank Kuenn, Donald was a proud graduate of Hamburg High School. Following his graduation, he served honorably in the United States Army before beginning a successful career in the transportation industry. Over the years, he worked with Greyhound, Eckerd Drugs, and Pinellas County Schools, and was the owner of Yorkshire Limousine.
A dedicated member of Star Lodge #78 F. & A.M., Donald served as Past Worshipful Master and exemplified the values of service and brotherhood that Freemasonry represents. Beyond his professional and fraternal achievements, Donald had a lifelong passion for books and literature, as well as for hiking, backpacking, gardening, and simply enjoying life’s many adventures.
Donald is survived by his sons Dwayne L. Kuenn, James B. Kuenn, Donald E. Kuenn, and Kurt D. Kuenn; and by nine beloved grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Karl G. Kuenn, as well as his two brothers and his sister.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Florida National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
Donald will be remembered for his kindness and zest for life — a man who found joy in learning, nature, and the company of those he loved.
