Judy attended Patterson Park High School in Baltimore where she was a proud member of the Clipper Choir, an honor student, senior class president and the 1957 Sweetheart. She went on to attend Johns Hopkins as first a student and then a teacher, preceding her career as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. In addition, she was devoted to the cause of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, being elected first the president of Florida’s chapter in 1984 and then the international president in 2002. She also served as the Director of Clearwater Free Clinic and had opportunities to connect with numerous U.S. presidents, vice presidents and first ladies. I first met this grand woman in 1982 as the first GFWC FL Jr PR chairman. I approached Judy about having all clubs adopt GFWC before their club names. Something that came to fruition at the GFWC conference some 10 years later. I referred myself as Judy's "thorn in the side" to help move this initiative forward! The world, our communities, her friends and family will ( her, her smiles, her hugs and her love of service. Rest in peace dear friend.

Dear Louis and family, was so saddened to lose my long time friend Judy but how unique to leave on the day she entered 80 yrs ago. Only Judy could pull that off! Judy & I served as president of our local junior woman's clubs at the same time. What a gem of a woman! I not only shared many wonderful Federation meetings & gatherings with her but visited her private residence in DC when she was "The President". We laughed over how short her new bed was! Not prepared for someone of Judy's stature. Thank you for allowing us all to share this remarkable woman. She has touched many hearts across the Nation. All the best ahead, Joanne Walker

Judy, will always be in my memory as beautiful and smart lady. There was never a doubt about how much she loved her children and grandchildren and most of all her husband, Lou. She would light up the room with her smile especially when talking about her grandkids and it was always a pleasure talking with her. I always enjoyed the stories about the dog, Lutz and the vet called Lutz.

It was 1974: this Director of Juniors appointed Judy Lutz to FFWC Juniors Arts Department Chairman. Thus, began a beautiful story of more than 50 years of accomplishments, leadership and friendship.
Her story reached out to influence many; respect, appreciation and caring. A listening ear and loving spirit finds that difference could be a plus in bring out the best in others.
We truly know that Judy made a difference to her family, her friends, Federation and certainly me. She will leave an after glow of smiles and an echo of happy laughing times.
When someone is so influential like Judy, she becomes a timeless memory to always treasure.

I was so privileged to know Judy. She and I shared a common bond in caring for members of the Mary Elizabethans and attending a few of their meetings. She always had a smile and a word of friendship whenever we met at a GFWC Function. I was also privileged to be a member of the board when she served as GFWC President. We shared nurse stories and a love of GFWC. She will be missed.
