Edwin M Lane

86 of Largo, FL passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Morton Plant Hospital under the care of hospice. Edwin was born on January 20, 1926 in Rochester, NY and moved to this area in 1996 coming from Cincinnati, OH. He served in the US Army during WWII, was a Life Member & Past Commander of Oolakhan American Legion Post 372, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of College Hill – H.S. Johnson Masonic Lodge #641, a member of Royal Arch Masons – Cumminsville Chapter #158, a member of the Oolakhan Masonic Marching Band, a Life Member of Royal & Select Masons – Cincinnati Council #1, a Life Member of Hanselmann Commandry # 16 – Knights Temple a Life Member of Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite and a Life Member & Past Master of Oolakhan Grotto all of Cincinnati, OH and was the secretary of Town & Country Mobile Home Park for 6 years. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia B. Lane of Largo, FL, three son’s, Craig Lane of Germany, Scott and (Missy Wagers) Lane and Larry (Kim) Lane both of Ohio and a daughter, Kathleen Lane of Georgia, six grandchildren, Martha, Adam, Cory, Sacha, Michelle and Shelia, eight great grandchildren, Jerry, Jay, Marcel, Sheldon, Jacob, Jamie, Emily and Grace Anne, along with a sister; Beverly Bruman of NC and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Lane and a brother, George Lane. Memorial contributions may be offered to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL. 33760. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 2:15 PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery, in Bay Pines, FL.
