Edythe is survived by her son, George Louis Derbyshire, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his wife, Debbie; her granddaughters Jaime (husband Charles Askew) and Muhser; and her great-grandchildren Ellery and Warren.
There will be a graveside service for immediate family at the National cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Walter, who served in World War II.

Her family gives thanks for a life well lived and for the faith, kindness, and generosity that she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
