

Elizabeth A. Wardell, 90, of Largo, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2025. Born on November 5, 1934, in New Jersey to Anna and Lewis Tilton, Elizabeth lived a life devoted to care, community, and family.
She graduated from Toms River High School and went on to pursue her passion for nursing. Elizabeth earned her nursing education from several institutions: she graduated from St. Michael's School of Nursing in New Jersey, received her LPN from PVTI, and later earned her RN from SPJC. She also received a bachelor’s degree from Nova University. Elizabeth dedicated over 30 years of her life to nursing, compassionately caring for newborns in the intensive care unit at Morton Plant Hospital. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless families throughout her career.
On November 26, 1954, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Bill G. Wardell. Together, they raised a loving family and built a life grounded in dedication and joy.
Elizabeth was a proud and devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, holding a perpetual membership and contributing deeply to the organization. Within the Order, she was also actively involved in Amaranth, Magnolia Chapter 101, the Florida state DeMolay Women’s club for over 20 years, and other affiliated organizations throughout Pinellas County. Her dedication to these groups reflected her strong sense of community and service.
She also found joy in her time with the Red Hat Society, where her love of shopping and social gatherings brought laughter and cherished friendships.
She is survived by her children: W. Gordon Wardell, W. Glenn Wardell, Wayne J. Wardell (Tammy), and Wendy Polce Bryant (Craig); her grandchildren: Derek, Corey (Jess), Brittany (Matt), Rose (Kevin), Alyssa (Ty), Abby, Chloe, Dominec, and Brysyn; and her great-grandchildren: Norah, Emma, Jack, Layla, Wes and Rylee.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her boundless kindness, tireless dedication, and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and service.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on Monday, June 16th, 2025, at 5:00 at Serenity Funeral Home; 13401 Indian Rocks Road Largo, FL 33774.
