Faye Irene (Lingle) O’Bryant passed away on September 19, 2026. Faye was born to Ethel Irene Safrit and Julian Ralph Lingle, in Salisbury, NC on March 14, 1937. She attended Mt. Ulla High School in Mt. Ulla, NC, graduating in 1955, and receiving the “Most Musical” award for her Senior class. She played both the piano and organ and sang in the chorus. She also attended classes at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC.
Faye and her best friend moved to St Petersburg, FL to seek new opportunities in the late 50’s. They soon joined the Aquamaniac’s Ski Club out of Gulfport, FL, and performed a memorable show at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, Washington.
Faye served as an administrative assistant for GE which later became Martin Marietta. She retired after several years of service. She was a member of the 50+ gallon blood donor club, and a cancer survivor.
Faye attended First Christian Church of Seminole where she shared her musical talents, playing the piano/organ for over 40 years. She was known as a giver, volunteering whenever she could help. She served on the mission committee for several years as well as other committees, sang in the choir, performed in plays, participated in women’s Bible studies and traveled to women’s retreats with her wonderful group of friends. She was a faithful servant of Christ throughout her entire life.
Faye Irene O’Bryant was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Thomas O’Bryant, Sr. Faye is survived by her son, Rex Wiseley, and his wife, Lynn, her grandchildren, Brooke and Elyse Wiseley, several nieces, nephews and their children, and many other family members and friends..
Faye had an infectious laugh, and a joy filled spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family, her church family and lifelong friends but we rejoice knowing that she is now restored to full health and praising her Savior..
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Seminole, 13272 Park Boulevard, Seminole, Florida, 33776. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, FL.
