Faye was born in Tabor City, North Carolina on October 30, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Mamie and Lury Lewis. She lived in several states before moving to Florida in 1972. She enjoyed some of her happiest years in her home on Island Estates in Clearwater.
Prior to her retirement in December of 2006, Faye was employed at the Sheraton Sand Key as an executive assistant for 32 years. She worked in a construction trailer on the hotel property before the building was erected and made many special and lasting friendships during those years.
Faye loved socializing with friends and family, enjoying champagne and conversation with her daughter, a nice dinner at a fine restaurant, relaxing while viewing the beautiful waterway behind her Island Estates home, and enjoying peaceful days and nights with her husband and her feline companion. Faye was a gentle and kind woman, a “lady” in the truest sense, who always strived to stay in touch with her friends and family as they meant so much to her. Faye’s smile truly lit up rooms. She loved having fun and celebrating life. Faye fought and won her battle with breast cancer and lived for years with chronic lymphocytic leukemia but her recent illness proved to be too great for this special little lady to overcome. She will be missed by many.
Faye is survived by her husband, Aicy Evans; daughter, Karen Preston; grandson, Alex Dinkelmeyer; niece, Rockie Young; stepson, Gary Evans; and loved ones Kelly Reynolds, Rachael Barkoff and Tom Sampson, among so many others. A memorial service will be held 9:30am Saturday March 31st at Moss Feaster-Serenity Gardens Chapel 13401 Indian Rocks Road Florida. Memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society of Pinellas, 3040 State Road 590, Clearwater, FL 33759. https://secure.qgiv.com/for/?key=hspinellas .
