Frances (Fran) O'Donnell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on July 9, 2020. Her final days were spent at home with her loving husband of 74 years, John J. O'Donnell.
Fran was one of seven children and attended Catholic school in Lowell, MA.
She supported the troops during WWII by making parachutes and later worked at Raytheon Corporation in Waltham, MA.
Following her marriage, Fran devoted her life to providing a caring and loving home for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Fran was a very supportive wife to her husband's successful career in the airline industry in Washington, DC. They traveled the world and met many interesting people over the years.
Fran and John retired to Largo, FL and it was there that she developed a passion for tennis beginning at age 65 and became a tough competitor only stopping in her 80's. She had a beautiful smile and a cheerful laugh especially when winning in a friendly game of cards. She is remembered as a very sweet woman who adored her family. She was the epitome of class!
Fran is survived by her husband John J. O'Donnell of Largo, FL; her daughters, Sheila Whittredge (Gary) Humble, TX, Robin Carney (Michael) Ashburn, VA and son Jeff J. O'Donnell (Diana) Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Scott Fowler (Anca), Ken Fowler, Kelly O'Donnell (Matt), Jeff John O'Donnell Jr,, Katie Smith (Justin), Meghan Hoy (Ryan), Joshua O'Donnell and Joseph O'Donnell; her great grandchildren, Colin and Evan Smith, Brielle and Beckett Hoy, Eric Fowler, Quentin Rudzinski; one brother John O'Brien and his wife Suzanne of Norristown, PA.
Fran was the sister of the late Raymond and William O'Brien, Catherine Ellis, Theresa Pedreira and Rita Geddes.
Burial services will be held at Serenity Gardens, Largo, FL and will be livestreamed.
