80, Gar of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on November 9, 2016. He attended Cornell University where he earned his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 1958. A State of Florida Professional Engineer (since 1963) , his career included Director of Public Works for the City of Dunedin, City Engineer for the city of Pinellas Park and for 43 years owner and consulting engineer of Collins Engineering which specialized in commercial and residential swimming pools and water features. A “Celebration of Life” was held for Gar on November 14, 2016 at the G.B. Collins Engineering office in Palm Harbor. Paul Stanek, Assistant Public Works and Utilities Director for the City of Dunedin presented a Proclamation, signed by the Mayor, in recognition of “ Gar Collins Day”, November 28, 2016, in the City of Dunedin in appreciation for all his contributions to the city.
Gar is survived by loving relatives in the USA and UK. A memorial service and burial will be held in Birmingham, England
