Gary Weldon Nelson, 80, of Largo, Florida passed away on November 7, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 28, 1945. He attended college at the University of Kansas and later graduated from Tampa College with a degree in business administration. He worked at GTE and later became an assistant business manager for Local 824. He was preceded in death by his parents Weldon and Margaret Nelson and his sister Patricia Tubergen. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Nelson, his sister Barbara Warren, his children Russ, Monica, Jeff and Zach Nelson, and Jeff Majersik, and his grandchildren Sophia, Jeff II, Lily, Amelia, Anna and Orie. The family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Florida.
