Dear Jim,  I will miss George and his melodious voice.  If I had not heard from you two in quite a while, I would call or he would call and just begin talking as if we were just adding to a conversation we had the day before.  Another fond remembrance; a trip we made from Nashville to Tampa in a white panel truck.  George entertained us by his use of the CD radio.  He was an "original" and will be missed by us all.  My condolences to you and all his friends who loved him.

Dear Jim and Wanda.  What can I say to help you in this time of sorrow. George was my dearest friend from our first meeting in Knoxville in 1963. I knew and loved the entire family, his parents. Izzy and Wash,Wanda, his nephew Chris,
his Aunt Gladys and there was always George. We worked and played together
on stage and off; From the Masquers Lounge at the Andrew Johnson, to the Hunt room at The holiday inn. to the various stages of UT.
George was a huge presence in my life and every time I think of him I smile.
Please know that he will always be in my prayer as will all of his loved ones.
I can only hope that someday he and I can once again sing together in a place much better than this tired old world; which now seems emptier without him.

Jim, you don't know me, but George and I were great buddies back in the 1980s here in Knoxville. He and I worked together at Commercial Model Talent, Janice Reid's business here in Knoxville. No one, and I mean NO ONE could make me laugh as much and as hard as George could. We would banter back and forth and just make ourselves sick laughing so much. We had lost touch and reconnected via Facebook and how wonderful that was!

He was a blessed soul to have known and to have treasured during my life. I will miss him greatly and always think of him fondly. I will try to find the address and send a donation to the the Suncoast Hospice.

May he find peace now and may it bring you comfort to know how many lives he touched and how many of us will carry a little piece of George around in our hearts forever.

Read has already made an entry in the guest book, and spoke for me in the process, but I just wanted to add a note about the "photo gallery".  What a fantastic collection of the many sides of George.  I highly recommend that all who knew and loved him take a look.  If the photos don't appear properly, try the various display options until you get something that works.  It took me a couple of tries.

George lives on in marvelous memories.

  George is a shining example of what being a true friend is about. He would look into your eyes to tell of your mistakes and also praise your good deeds. He was always up front with his feelings and never had to be second guessed. 
  George was loved and will be missed by many good people. May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Jim and family. I always loved seeing George's smiling face when we both worshipped at St. Dunstan's Episcopal church. I remember him helping with our altar guild work, among many other jobs he did for the Lord and for us. Plus one time when he gave us our flu shots. He was always ready and willing to give a helping hand. I am so sorry for your loss and know you are in our hearts and prayers. I can only imagine how your hearts are aching, but know he is with our Lord Jesus. I know you have many wonderful memories of him. Jim, George and I knew each other for such a long time (40+ years), since we were both from Maryville originally and were both in theatre. And we reconnected on FB in the past couple of years which was so very nice. I have so many memories of George both personally and in the theatre. I hope it comforts you to know that he touched many lives.

Dearest Jimmy,  My thoughts are with you my old friend as you say goodbye to George. You both were a part of my life that has so many wonderful memories. Remember, George sang at my Wedding almost 30 years ago. I was so grateful to have been able to touch base with him this past year. He was a wonderful friend to me and I will always remember him; how He made me laugh and the many wonderful times we  shared on the stage and off. My love and prayers to you and George.

Jim, we send our most sincere condolences.  Although George & I didn't always see eye to eye, we grew to understand each other and appreciate our differences.  I'm sorry we won't be there but know we are thinking of you, George & Wanda.

So many good memories of a "bright star" in my life. George was so kind to me when I needed a friend, back in the late 60's in Knoxville. I remember him best from the piano bar at the old Andrew Johnson hotel, when he and his friend Clay would break into impromptu song and entertain us for hours. Farewell to my old friend from Alcoa, TN. You were wonderful.

So sorrry for your loss. I knew George from St. Dunstan's Church, he was a good man and fun to be around. He will be missed!!

It seems not so long ago that Sunday afternoons in Knoxville were made brighter by the weekly meetings of the "Busy Fingers Tearoom Society."

Or many a fine caserole was shared across Todd Preis in Nashville.
