

71, of Seminole, FL and formerly of Maryville, TN, passed away February 12, 2011. He studied theatre at the University of Tennessee and nursing at Cleveland State University. George worked as a nurse at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. After moving to Florida, he was very active in St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church in Largo. Throughout the years, George has taken part in commercials, television movies and theatre as a character actor. He is a member of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Tennessee and the Clearwater Chapter of the Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution. George was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Martha E. (Goddard) Roberts; aunt, Gladys Goddard; and brother-in-law, Joe Hubbard. George is survived by his life partner, James Drew; sister, Wanda Hubbard of Cleveland, TN; nephew, Lt. Col. Richard C. Hubbard and wife, Nancy Jo (Ret. Lt. Col.) and their family, Christopher, Gavin, Zachary and Madelyn of Williamsburg, VA; niece, Cheri Hubbard Vaughn and husband, Joe and their family, Cameron and Davon of Cleveland, TN; pets, Bruno and Miss Murphy; and all of his extended family. Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 19 at 11am at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, 403 1st Ave SW, Largo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to either Suncoast Hospice or St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church.
