Sallman, Imogene S. “Gene” 92 of Largo died Saturday May 19th at Sabal Palms Healthcare Center, Largo. Born Nov. 9, 1919 in Canton, South Dakota, she was the daughter of August and Matilda Anderson Swanson. Gene graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She married the late James “Jim” B. Sallman on Nov. 4, 1944; he died March 6, 2007. She was a former member of Bethesda Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois and the Church of the Palms in Sarasota, Florida; she was currently attending church services at Regal Palms. Gene is survived by her daughters Marcia (Jim) Sifferlen of Clearwater, Florida, and Nancy (Steven) Phillippi of Alpharetta, Georgia, and granddaughter Lauren Phillippi of Alpharetta, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 24th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home-Serenity Gardens Chapel, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd. Largo, Florida 33774. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice.
