

MacLACHLAN, James 92, son of the late John and Winifred MacLachlan, passed away Saturday Aug 15, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1923 in Montreal Quebec, Canada. James was retired from his many years as a Marine Terminal Operator for the Atlantic Richfield Company in New Haven, CT. He was a veteran who served as a Ranger in the US Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945. He is a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. His memberships included American Legion Post 252 Seminole, FL and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4256 Madeira Beach. James was a builder of many things including his home and boat. He enjoyed healthy cooking, playing darts, swimming, fishing, camping, biking and kayaking. He loved sports and surfing the internet. He will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his wife ,Catherine (MacLachlan (Cigich), and brothers, John, Robert and William MacLachlan. and son-in-law Gene Stonski. Survivors include his children, James MacLachlan (Ingrid) Largo, FL, Anne Stonski Largo, FL, Jane Wharton (Randy) North Branford, CT, and Alice Doolan (Robert) East Haven, CT., grandchildren, Tyler Stonski, Jessica Wharton, Kristi Wharton, Patrick Doolan and Christopher Doolan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Aug 22nd at 1 pm at Serenity Funeral Home in Largo. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
