

James W. Magee, Jr., 66 ½, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl formerly of largo, died, Monday, March 19, 2012 at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Fl. He is survived by his wife, Lin Magee, his daughter, Leisa Kirschner, his granddaughter, Elizabeth Kirschner, his mother, Anne Jenkins Magee, his sister, Laurie Strausbaugh, his brother in law, John Strausbaugh, his sister in law, Jan LIfshutz, and nephews, Colton Strausbaugh and Ian Lifshutz and his wife Tara Lifshutz. Educated as an aero space engineer attaining his MBA he worked over 40 years on space and aquatic engineering projects for several firms prior to his retirement 3 years ago. For the last 18 months he has been a patient or outpatient at Shands Research Hospital Heart Transplant Program in Gainesville, Fl. Although he did not receive a heart transplant he participated in drug projects and a pacemaker program for research in congestive heart failure, which maintained his quality of life for many months past our original expectations. There will be a visitation Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home at 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Fl, followed by a service at 3pm. There will also be memorial services in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl and York, Pa, in the near future. The family suggests donations to the Shands Hospital Heart Failure Education Program in lieu of flowers. Donations may be sent to Shands Office of Development, P.O.
