James L. Pointer of Dunedin, Florida passed away on October 20, 2018 at the age of 86. James graduated from the University of Kansas in 1960, proud to be a Jayhawk! James, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, re-located to Dunlap, Illinois in 1974 to become the Operations Manager of Wilkins Pipe and Supply. As luck would have it, James and Beverly settled in the Lake of the Woods subdivision and were quickly surrounded by the best friends anyone could ever hope for. In 1982 he formed Pointer Aviation, based at Mt. Hawley Airport in Peoria, Illinois. He developed his love of flying when he joined the Naval Reserves in 1953. He was a civil engineer by degree, but in his heart he was always a pilot. James re-located to Florida in 1987 where he took a job with the Nestle division of Coca-Cola. His favorite job after "retiring" was working the Ferry to beautiful Caladesi Island. It was there that he met Joanne Wilson. After tragically losing his wife Beverly in 1986, he was blessed to find love again twenty years later. She bought a ticket for the ferry and it was love at first sight. He will be lovingly remembered by his sweetie, Joanne Wilson of Dunedin, Florida, daughters, Kimberly (Lawrence) Oswain of Bellair Bluffs, FL and Jamie Bozarth of Dunedin, FL, grandchildren Courtney Bozarth of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ashley Bozarth of Gainesville, Florida, Christopher Hill of St. Petersburg, Florida, Joseph Bozarth of Gainsville, Florida and Kelly Hill of Bellair Bluffs, Florida and great granddaughter Bailey. He is preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Beverly, son-in-law Douglas Bozarth, and an infant grandson. SOAR HIGH DAD, YOU TRULY HAVE WINGS NOW! XOXO ... KIM
