James “Jim” Warren Small, 75, passed away on June 20, 2020 in Homosassa, Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1945 in Berwyn, Illinois to James E Small and Margorie (Kriznecky) Small. His parents have predeceased him.
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra. They were married in 1964, and moved to Florida from Brookfield, Illinois in 1972. He has four children, Tracy Brown, Tammy Ball (Dan), Tina Martindale, and Jim Small (Tammy), eight grandchildren, Brandie, Becca, Sandra, Skyler, Tyrus, Scott, Lisa, Erin, seven great-grandchildren, and his sister, Bonnie Hick (Scott).
In 1972, when Jim and Sandy moved to Florida Jim worked for Ponderosa as a trouble shoot manager, they moved around the west coast of Florida, before settling in Seminole, Florida in the 80’s. Jim continued to work in the hospitality industry his smile and kind manner made him a joy to work with. After Jim retired, he and Sandy moved to Homosassa, Florida.
For almost 50 years, he was a Mason, and a member of the Star Lodge F. A& M. # 78 in Largo, Florida. Jim enjoyed attending meetings and his friendships with other Masonic members.
One of Jim’s favorite hobbies was playing darts with friends or on a dart league. He enjoyed getting together with friends discussing the hospitality industry, sports and world events.
A memorial service will be at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Florida, 33774 on Sunday, July 13 at 3:00pm.
